Jennifer (with absolutely no hesitation): "Oh, I'm sure of it."
Ever since I had that conversation with Jennifer a few weeks ago, I've been realizing how true it is. Apparently, I think completely differently than most people. I, at 31, really do feel like life is this incredible fairytale. And I'm not just talking about the fact that, in my world, there's a chance that fairies still exist somewhere or that I could enter Narnia through a wardrobe someday (do not ever doubt the strength of my faith in the "imaginary").
I'm talking about right here, on this earth, in this present reality we are living in a fairytale that has been written by the most creative Author ever to write. Sometimes we run into dark, threatening lands, witches, unseen powers, wolves in sheep's clothing. Other times we have beautiful moments of discovery, revelations that lead to character growth, and maybe, just maybe, a glimpse of happily ever after.
Every day we wake up is another page in the story (or 10 chapters, depending on the day). But it's exciting, this life. We get to LIVE! We get to BE! Life isn't boring, it's an amazing GIFT! We are invited to be part of the best damn fairytale ever written. But we have to choose to see it that way. And that is why I want to "realize life" while I live it. ("Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it? every, every minute..." -Emily, Our Town).
On my good days, I do. I realize life - the good, the bad, and the ugly.
And on those good days, I love it all.
